I have been coming to Flash & Flare for several years and always receive exceptional service! Marlena is so knowledgeable in hair care and maintaining healthy hair. I started the journey of growing out my relaxer. I did not want to do a “big chop”. Marlena helped me through the process with keratin treatments. Now my relaxer is fully out and my hair has never been healthier!

Excellent! I've been going to Flash and Flare Healthy Hair for over 17 years now for all my hair care needs. My hair always comes out looking its best every time I go in for an appointment. Marlena really takes the time to make sure my hair not only looks its best, but that it is healthy and clean, which I very much appreciate!

I visited Flash and Flare Hair Salon for what I believed would be a simple appointment: a style with a flat iron. When I arrived, I explained to the stylist that my hair was damaged and I needed a trim nothing drastic, just a clean-up of the ends and a flat iron. The stylist consulted with the owner who then examined my hair and agreed that I needed a trim and recommended a protein treatment. I was fine with that suggestion and agreed to the treatment. However, what happened next was shocking and deeply upsetting. While I expected a trim, the manager took it upon herself to continue cutting without clearly explaining her intentions. By the time she finished, I was left with a pixie cut. At no point was I told that my trim would turn into a full-on transformation. I was never asked if I wanted a pixie cut, and I certainly did not give consent for such a drastic change to my appearance. After the treatment and mold down, the cutting continued. It became obvious that not only was the style nothing like what I expected, but the final cut was uneven. The sides were shaved, but they were not symmetrical one side was clearly shorter than the other. I left the salon not only shocked by my new look but also disappointed in the lack of communication and the disregard for my wishes plus the amount of what I paid. I’m writing this review to caution others: be very clear and firm about what you want before allowing anyone to start working on your hair.
