Third Friday in the Visitor Info Center: Juneteenth Celebration with Eve Botanical Lounge

Celebrate Juneteenth with Discover Durham and Eve Botanical Lounge as we honor Durham's rich Black history through community, culture, music, and thoughtfully crafted, family friendly mocktails.

From 6-8pm, enjoy a special Juneteenth-themed live set from DJ Bre, featuring sound inspired by Black musical traditions, celebration, resilience and joy. As music fills the Visitor Center, guests are invited to sample a trio of signature mocktails created for the occasion, each inspired by important chapters for Durham's Black history.

Hayti Sunrise

A vibrant beet, ginger, turmeric, line and edible gold shimmer inspired by Hayti, Durham's historic Black community established by newly freed families after emancipation. With its red-to-gold hues, this mocktail celebrates freedom, resilience, and new beginning.

Parrish Street Prosperity Punch

Fresh cucumber, mint, green tea and lime honor the entrepreneurial spirit of Durham's legendary Black Wall Street. Inspired by the businesses and institutions that transformed Parrish Street into a national model of Black economic empowerment, this refreshing cocktail is a toast to vision, growth, and community wealth.

Freedom on Fayetteville

Earl grey tea, lavender syrup, lemon, and mint join in a bright and elegant tribute to Fayetteville Street, the cultural heart of Hayti. A gathering place for faith, music, business and community, Fayetteville Street remains an enduring symbol of Black excellence and cultural pride in Durham.
