ADF Presents: Kimberly Bartosik/daela w/ Post-Performance Discussion
ADF Co-Commission
Program: bLUr
Running time: 60 minutes, no intermission
Tickets are purchased through Duke University’s Box Office.
Culled from the haunting experience of having witnessed a loved one overdose, bLUr exists within a landscape of physical and emotional crisis. Built in cycles of deeply erotic tenderness and fierce compassion, five performers of exquisite humanity fly through states of chaos, panic, emptiness, clarity, hope, and back, arresting their cycles intermittently to perform urgent interventions, tender and brutal rescues. Like a body seized by howling hunger, their wild encounters are urgent and essential, providing the glue that keeps this fragile space intact. In bLUr, time warps and haunts, reminding us of our fragility, power, and need to care for and rescue one another.
