Lovely facility right on campus with shuttle service to Duke Medical Center Hospital and Clinics. The rooms are big and very comfortable. Good food in the restaurants. The personnel are OUTSTANDING. They are gracious and accommodating, and they clearly are proud of their service. This is a great hotel if you need a comfortable place for early recovery post hospitalization at Duke before you head home. People come from all over the world for Duke’s expertise, and the WaDu is integral to that.

For a company dinner, staff was friendly and professional, food was great. Interior design tended towards ornate sophistication with carved wood furniture. Minus one star because signage directing people to the correct building and room was left up to the company which is a terrible mistake, and staff were mostly unaware of the minor event while larger ones were ongoing. Overall, a very good impression.

A beautiful hotel, awesome breakfast and comfortable stay... except for the pompous, exclusive attitudes of the guests. It was almost comical how surprised some responded to seeing African American vacationing at the hotel. Yes, African Americans have money, vacation and enjoy the same comforts. We're so glad the rest of the stay overshadowed the obvious lack of diversity.

Very posh, a real experience. The staff was awesome, the pianist was amazing, the ambience is, well, above my socioeconomic status. I wish somebody would have told me that overalls with no shirt was inappropriate. The meal was very good - the filet was perfectly cooked, the over easy egg was textbook and the potatoes were OK, would have been better if the grill was a little hotter. The desert table was a great finish with a variety suiting all palates.

We’ve been coming here for meals and tea for nearly a decade. They have consistently top notch food and service. Everyone, including the servers, cooks, and managers do an excellent job. It’s so rare these days to an see obviously well-trained staff when dining out.

A hotel next to Duke University which is a relict from a bygone era. The golf course is nice, the running parcours as well. Easy spacious parking. Just the rooms are extremely old fashioned, which has been my main criteria to vote low. The rom simply doesn't feel like a part of today. Good breakfast.

We had a reservation for a king room facing the back for two nights for a good rate. When we checked in we were told those rooms were sold out so we had to take a two double bed room facing the parking lot for quite a bit more money. We decided it was not the romantic stay we hoped and checked out after one night. Learn from our experience.
