Great diner food and free refills on coffee. We loved the art and plants too -- it's a great atmosphere. I had an omelet with onions, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheddar and it came with a biscuit and home fries. My date had a waffle with strawberries in syrup and eggs and country ham. It was all delicious, and less than $30. I recommend the biscuits! Fluffy and buttery.

Food was excellent! Service was friendly and accommodating, a good selection of vegetarian options on the menu. I had the French toast and it was perfect!

The breakfast sandwiches were so good. The cashier was so kind and the lady that worked the back was nice also. The prices are absolutely the best. The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because my clothes smelled like smoke when I left. They need a new exhaust system. 4.5 Stars

I visited this restaurant for breakfast for the first time after seeing lots of friends posting about it online. I had been in the area many times but never stopped. I tried the pancakes, waffles, eggs, turkey sausage and cajun grits. I must say everything was very good. The portion sizes will fill you up. I give 5 stars to the Cajun Grits! They we're delicious. I will definitely be heading back to try everything else in the menu.

I got the chicken and waffles! Can you say SEASONED to perfection? The chicken was seasoned all the way through. I chose the chicken tenders instead of the wings and it was so good. The waffle was delicious and you can tell it was made from scratch. And that sweet tea was sent down from heaven! It was by far THE BEST sweet tea I've had in a very long time.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast for the first time after seeing lots of friends posting about it online. I had been in the area many times but never stopped. I tried the pancakes, waffles, eggs, turkey sausage and "cajun" grits. I must say everything was very good. The portion sizes will fill you up. I give 5 stars to the Cajun Grits! They we're delicious. I will definitely be heading back to try everything else in the menu.

Our BIG Veggie omelets came out piping hot and tasty with a choice of cheese—including our picks of feta and provolone. We also got the fresh fruit side, and the pineapple clearly had just been sliced. The coffee was just OK, but my hot chocolate was indeed hot with an added refill after I’d spilled my first cup. Our friendly server provided prompt and attentive hospitality. We left very full—and ready to try this locally owned/operated café again soon. I also liked the art throughout the restaurant and noticed a stage for live music, although I didn’t see—or ask for—a schedule. (When I return to try lunch, I’ll be sure to ask, in case dinner and dancing is also an option for us!)

Great portion sizes. The shrimp and grits are absolutely delicious! The sweet potato biscuit was yummy too. There is beautiful artwork to view while you dine.

My daughter and I stumbled onto this gem this morning. The staff was friendly and the food was extraordinary. My daughter got a chicken and egg biscuit, and swears she will never be able to eat chicken anywhere else ever again. "That biscuit cured my anxiety!" We were in a rush so we got our food to go, but we are planning to return as soon as we can.

The food was great but the service was better! Our server, Tish if I remember correctly, was super friendly and efficient. She answered out questions quickly and made suggestions when asked. She was terrific! The shrimp & grits was phenomenal, as were the chicken and waffles. The salmon cakes were also delicious. The portion sizes were very generous. We took our leftovers home and had them for breakfast the following day, and the food was great even then. I got unsweetened tea and it was easily the best I've had in North Carolina. I can't wait to go back!

The service and food was some of the best soul food restaurants in the downtown Durham area.
