Writing the South with the Redbud Writing Project
The Redbud Writing Project is the Triangle's only creative writing community organization for adults.
This course is a deep dive into multi-genre writing that reflects a multi-faceted region. You will look at fiction, poetry, and nonfiction that is unafraid to get tangled up in Southern language, landscapes, histories, and possible futures. From the great and diverse tradition of Southern literature—especially by Black, queer, and other marginalized Southern writers—you will learn to evoke a powerful, honest sense of place in our own work. In the meantime, we will also sort through messy and ever-changing relationships to this big, beautiful place.
Please note that this class meets six times, starting on August 19. Tuition covers all six meetings.
