Who Let The Dogs In? The Shared Human Canine Microbiome!

You share your life, your walks, your bed, and your food with your best friend, but what else do you share with your dog?

Join Dr. Taylor Gin, DVM, DACVIM, PhD, for an overview of the scientific research evaluating microbial sharing between dogs and their owners! From single organisms, such as COVID 19, to complex bacterial communities called the microbiome, humans and dogs may or may not share that much microbially! Dr. Gin will discuss the most recent research using the latest technology to study the human canine microbiome and the challenges associated with proving microbial sharing between humans and canines!

Taylor Gin, DVM, DACVIM, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the Birkenheuer Lab.
