"We Built This" Exhibit

The James E. Shepard Library hosts Preservation NC's "We Built This," which is a traveling exhibit and educational program highlighting the often-overlooked African American craftspeople who built North Carolina's historic structures. The exhibit showcases stories of skilled builders, architects, and enslaved laborers who contributed to landmarks, HBCUs, and churches.
