The NC Youth Tap Ensemble live at the Carolina Theatre with Star Dixon
Join the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble and special guest Star Dixon for Resonance, an exploration of sound, movement, and legacy.
Produced by NCYTE's Senior members and their Artistic director, this 90 minute performance is guided by the idea that every note has a unique shape and purpose. Resonance goes beyond the initial sound and into the vibrations, echoes, and lasting impressions that persist after the sound fades. Through a curated selection of NCYTE’s expansive repertory and the debut of new works, the dancers honor the lineage of those who came before them and pave the way for those who will follow. Resonance begins with us and ends with us, asking not what disappears, but what remains.
NCYTE is honored to be joined by Star Dixon (Of M.A.D.D. Rhythms in Chicago. IL) who spent time with the company to create a new work for the show.
Starinah “Star” Dixon is an assistant director, choreographer, and original principal dancer of world renowned tap company, M.A.D.D. Rhythms. She has taught and performed at the most distinguished tap festivals in the country including The L.A. Tap Fest, DC Tap Fest, RIFF Dallas, Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s Rhythm World, and MADD Rhythms own Chicago Tap Summit.
