The North Carolina native started singing in the church but deep inside country music was his first love. With his father being a Pastor and his mother a teacher, he was captivated by country music through his neighborhood friends and family listening to groups such as Vince Gill, Hunter Hayes & Dixie Chicks. At the age of 16 he explained to his family he wanted pursue country music. Although they were not ok with the idea, he was persistent and put his roots down into the genre.
