Stories of Stagville Women
These special guided tours feature individual stories of enslaved women from Stagville, to better understand the lives, work, and resistance of enslaved women on one of the largest plantations in North Carolina. This tour highlights the history of women like Mary, Phoebe, Emma, and Faithy, pieced together from oral history and archival sources.
This tour includes histories of violence and sexual violence, and these tours not recommended for young children. Tours will last 1 hour and 15 minutes. The tour will include walking and standing, both indoors and outdoors, including on some uneven ground.
Space is limited, and you must purchase tickets in advance.
