Stories from the Water and the Land: Sustaining Communities

The North Carolina Collection at the Durham County Library invites you to join their Library Fest panel discussion to discover how North Carolina’s landscapes—its farms, forests, burial grounds, and waterways—sustain culture, memory, environmental health and community well‑being.

Speakers include Delphine Godley Sellars, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Urban Community AgriNomics (UCAN), Catawba Trail Farm in Durham; Ryan E. Emanuel, a hydrologist and associate professor at Duke University; and Beverly Scarlett, co-founder of Indigenous Memories in Hillsborough. The panel will be moderated by J.T. Tabron, assistant register of deeds in Durham County.
