"Something Light" Night

Try four crushable summer beers from The Glass Jug Brewery! If you haven't stopped by lately (or if you have), grab a pint or a flight of thier featured selections for the summer.

They will be pouring:

* brand spankin' new Dortmunder-style lager brewed in collaboration with Blackbird Brewery in Wake Forest. This new brew is a triple decocted Dortmunder, a pale golden lager that is higher ABV and more full-bodied than a pilsner. The triple decoction adds a bit more golden color and depth of flavor. They also used Epiphany Century Pilsner, which is a less-modified European-style base malt that was engineered specifically for decoction mashing.

* Research Triangle Pilsner - a German-style Pilsner that is crisp with a light crackery malt character and just the right amount of bite and a subtle herbal and citrus note from the use of Saaz, Hallertau, and Citra hops.

* Summer Zest - American wheat ale dry-hopped with Amarillo and Citra hops along with fresh orange and lime zest for a smooth, refreshingly crushable summer brew with a big kick of fresh-squeezed citrus!

* 40 East - their belgian-style Wit brewed with European pilsner malt and flaked white wheat, but the kick comes from the use of freshly ground coriander seed, sweet orange peel, and dried bitter orange peel for a bright, citrusy, summer hit that melds perfectly with the specialty Belgian yeast character.
