Nono Gigsta / One Duran

Nono Gigsta’s (she/they) much lauded Free Rotation mix was RA’s top pick Mix of the Year: “Jaw-dropping transitions dominate this two-hour recording, aptly described as “Big Blend Academy” by one commenter.” Her radio shows “Fictions” are deeply researched, the party she hosts are carefully curated and her substack newsletter is scrupulously written. A resident of queer and femme-forward collective Room4Resistance, Nono plays a variety of tempos, rhythms and colors with a specific fascination for lower frequencies and the odd cut out sample.

Although she doesn’t fly and makes sparse use of social media, Nono’s reputation for playful, sometimes obscure sets has been spreading across Europe – leading her to play at festivals and clubs such as CTM, De School, Dekmantel Selectors, Horst Club and Festival, Macadam, Meakusma, Nuits Sonores, Open Ground, Outra Cena, REEF, Subglow and many do-it-together parties. She’s had a really great year so far, performing with the likes of Aquarian, CCL, Darwin, DJ Stingray, Objekt, Pariah and re:ni, as well as playing several all night long sets.

One Duran has been a fixture in the Triangle scene for decades, helping throw the Dyssembler, 1200 Problems and Actual Dancing parties in rooms from Hell and Ringside to the beloved Nightlight, hopping genres from house to jungle to 70/140 club constructions.
