Moon Over Modernism

NCModernist celebrates 2023 with a special night in one of North Carolina's most-awarded Modernist houses as they honor one of North Carolina's most-celebrated architects, Frank Harmon, with lively music, delicious food, and curated drinks! Proceeds benefit NCModernist's mission of documenting, preserving, and promoting residential Modernist architecture across the state.

You'll discover the Smart/Stell House in Parkwood, the original 1960's development to support Research Triangle Park. The house -- designed by Vinny Petrarca of Katherine Hogan Architects -- won design awards including AIA Triangle, AIA North Carolina, and the Matsumoto Prize. The house has been featured in video productions for First Citizens Bank, the rapper Lawsy, WRAL, and UNC-TV.
