JUBILEE (NYC) - “A DJs’ DJ in the purest of terms” (Mixmag). Brooklyn’s Jubilee draws from her South Florida rave roots and seamlessly travels between underground and mainstream, spinning everything from Miami bass, electro, and Baltimore club to techno, breaks, and UK garage. She’s rocked clubs and festivals worldwide, from NYC to Lollapalooza, and runs the award-winning Magic City label. “Irresistibly catchy basslines across the club music spectrum” (Resident Advisor).
GRRL (NC) - North Carolina’s GRRL crafts ginsu-sharp techno, whipsmart breakbeats, and percussive club belters that speed toward the future while evading the obvious. From local Durham sets to collaborations with PC Music and Magic City, their sound blends jungle, grime, Jersey club, gqom, and Miami bass with sci-fi atmospheres and crisp percussion. A voracious student of the underground, GRRL’s monthly NTS transmission and live sets are a masterclass in forward-thinking club music — catch them if you can.
PLAYPLAY (NYC) - PlayPlay blends percussion, bass, nostalgic samples, and dreamy synths into DJ sets and productions that nod to ’90s club, jungle, breakbeat, house, and hip-hop. With releases on Clasico, Sorry, Worst Behavior, and Delusional Records, plus features on BBC Radio 1, NTS, Rinse FM, and more, they’ve built a thumping, forward-thinking discography. When not behind decks, they throw Breaking Capacity and PARADOX raves, and mentor the next generation as program director of Building Beats.
QUEEN PLZ (NC) - Durham DJ and forensic toxicologist, Queen Plz founded the seminal local crew Party Illegal in 2013 to create space for diversity in the underground. Inspired by the energy of every new generation of musical troublemakers, she celebrates cross-genre sounds and the dancers, DJs, and artists who make collaborative, free-spirited dancefloors possible.
As always, Uymami & Party Illegal are your MOODBOARD curators, hosts and party purveyors
