Mallarme Music: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari - silent film with live chamber music accompaniment

Mallarmé Music and The Carolina Theatre’s Retro film series presents “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” with original chamber music composed by Eric Schwartz. This film catapulted the movement known as German Expressionism into film history. Director Robert Wiene and a visionary team of designers crafted a nightmare in which light, shadow and substance are abstracted, a world in which a demented doctor and a carnival sleepwalker perpetrate a series of ghastly murders in a small community. “Caligari” will be presented with live chamber music!
