Magical Realism with the Redbud Writing Project

The Redbud Writing Project is the Triangle's only community creative writing organization for adults. In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn about and try their hand at the genre of magical realism.

Magical realism is described as "the world appearing much like our own, but also including an element of the extraordinary." In this class, instructor Omaria Sanchez-Pratt invites stories involving ghosts, the strange, genre-bending prose, and everything in between. This workshop will explore the surreal through a series of readings, exercises, and discussions that will teach students how to craft their own magical realist stories.

Please note that this class starts on August 20 and meets every Wednesday for six weeks. The tuition cost covers all six meetings.
