MAAME, Inc. End of Summer Doula Collective Meet and Greet
Are you an expecting or new mom? Interested in learning what a Doula is and how they can support you and your family? Are you worried about giving birth as a Woman of Color?
MAAME, Inc. envisions a society where Black women and women of color, receive quality perinatal, maternal, and postpartum care with the ability to maintain financial stability. To do this they will train doulas to serve and educate women within their communities and create economic development opportunities and support to decrease poverty within their communities after childbirth.
Due to the lack of representation in birth work, MAAME advocates for women of color to reclaim their birth practices as leaders and healers within their community by following the footsteps of the women who were forced out of the midwifery field due to institutional medical racism.
Join their End of Summer Meet n Greet to get to know MAAME, Inc.'s Doula Collective and other community resources available to support you and your family. They will have light refreshments, Doula Speed Dating, activities, and more
This event is FREE to the public. The venue has Gender-neutral ADA accessible restrooms that are on the same floor as the event, Family-Friendly, and wheelchair accessible.
