Hoopla
The bigger the hoops, the more influential the person. Taking up physical space has always been powerful— especially in a world where political space is limited. Internationally published artist Perrin Marie is creating a series of hoop skirts and accessories adorned with recycled materials that make noise— not always just a gentle swish swish, but the clink of bottles, the chime of cans, and a whole lot of presence. It's a fashionable revolution. Through this work, Perrin empowers individuals to take up space, skirt the issues, and make HOOPLA (get it?).
