“Foxtrot Fever” Dance Class @ JB Duke Hotel

Experience the timeless elegance of the Foxtrot at the JB Duke Hotel, the AAA Four Diamond hotel nestled on the scenic Duke University campus. Guests will have the chance to glide across the floor in a lively and social atmosphere with a Foxtrot class led by the talented Jordan Jewell of Move With Grace Ballroom. This beginner-friendly session will introduce participants to the graceful movements and effortless charm of the Foxtrot, a dance known for its smooth flow and versatility. Whether they are first-timers or seasoned dancers, the class offers the perfect blend of fun and finesse, making it an unforgettable experience for all.

But the night doesn’t stop there! After the class, guests will stop by the JB Duke’s chic Lobby Lounge from 7-7:30 p.m. for an intimate Q&A session, where they’ll learn about the cultural context and history of the Foxtrot. The hotel’s imaginative culinary team will also treat guests to a complimentary specialty cocktail sample, crafted to reflect the vibrant flavors and traditions of the period the Foxtrot originated.

Jordan Jewell, owner of Durham-based Move With Grace Ballroom, has been a competitive dancer since age 17. After competing for Purdue University and UNC-Chapel Hill, Jordan transitioned to teaching, earning accolades and training under world-renowned ballroom dancers along the way.

The Foxtrot class is part of the “Step into Spring” Dance Series – a weekly program hosted by the JB Duke and the nearby AAA Four Diamond Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, immersing guests in the rhythm, history and culture of various dance styles in a relaxed, social atmosphere:
