Fiesta de Lotería: Play, Learn & See the Art!
Join this free, family friendly event to play LOTERIA, the Latin American bingo game, and celebrate with the photography exhibit “Loteria: A Photographic Study of Latino Contributions to Our Community.” Featuring the work of local photographer, Anthony Garza, the exhibit brings dynamic portraits of members of our community into the visual world of lotería, an iconic game played throughout most of Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the portraits and accompanying profiles of the people featured in Garza’s work, from carpenters, lawyers, doctors, homemakers, authors, and rock stars, exhibit participants can explore the many ways that these community member’s complex histories and Latino identities bring richness, joy and deep commitment to our lives and our state.
The mariachi ensemble, Mariachi Viva México NC, will be playing from 7:00-8:00pm
All are welcome to come, play, learn and celebrate the joy of lotería and the many rich and varied contributions of the Latino members of our community.
The photography exhibit will be on display and open to the public September 6 – October 5, 2025. The gallery is open from 10:00am-7:00pm Monday-Saturday and 12:00-6:00pm Sundays.
