Erika Lewis Trio

There's a brand new recording studio in Durham's Tuscaloosa-Lakewood neighborhood and they're presenting live concerts as well! Asheville based singer songwriter Erika Lewis, lead vocalist with the award-winning New Orleans brass band "Tuba Skinny", will kick off their monthly concert series at Durham's unique recording studio / performance space: Magnetic Sound Studios.

Erika has spent years in New Orleans playing and singing on the street with Tuba Skinny, making records, writing songs and performing with a number of friends and different groups in New Orleans. Recently she has moved to Asheville and has released a gorgeous full-length record of her original songs called "A Walk Around the Sun", which has been warmly received by critics and folk/Americana radio. For this show, she'll be performing in a trio format that features Italian guitarist/singer-songwriter Steven Paris.
