Durham Medical Orchestra: 15 Years in Harmony
Join the Durham Medical Orchestra to celebrate 15 incredible years of music-making with a program bursting with color, energy, and heart. They open with the sweeping power and soul of Dvořák’s beloved Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” You’ll love the sparkling brilliance and wit of Bernstein’s Candide Overture, followed by Jennifer Higdon’s shimmering soundscape Blue Cathedral. They’ll finish with the irresistible rhythms of Arturo Márquez’s Danzón No. 2, a piece guaranteed to send you out dancing.
This concert is a celebration of the Orchestra's favorite works from their first 15 years, the joy of performing together, and the incredible community that’s grown around our music.
Artistry. Wellness. Passion. Community. These values unite the members of the Durham Medical Orchestra, which draws together health-related professionals, medical and graduate students of the life sciences, and community members. Under the leadership of Conductor and Artistic Director Verena Mösenbichler-Bryant, our performances offer the benefits of music to wide audiences around the Triangle.
