Drugdealer at Motorco

A veteran of Los Angeles’ psychedelic scene, Michael Collins leads Drugdealer, a project that trades lo-fi trippiness for polished, Laurel Canyon–inspired soft rock. Anchored by his warm keyboard work and refined songwriting, Collins blends 1970s singer-songwriter influences with meticulous studio craft. After early projects Run DMT and Salvia Plath, he shifted direction with Drugdealer’s debut The End of Comedy (2016), followed by Raw Honey (2019) and Hiding in Plain Sight (2022). Known for assembling eclectic collaborators—Weyes Blood, Ariel Pink, Kate Bollinger, and Tim Presley—Collins creates richly layered, collaborative records that balance nostalgic mood with modern precision and understated melodic sophistication.
