Cross-Cultural Experience Through Japanese Taiko Drumming

The POOF Teen Center Program is hosting a Welcoming Event that celebrates diversity and promotes cross-cultural appreciation, inviting the Durham community to experience the spirit and culture of Japan through music.

🥁 Taiko Performance by Takumi Kato

A renowned professional Taiko drummer from Gifu, Japan, Takumi Kato has toured internationally with Kodo, one of Japan’s most celebrated Taiko ensembles.

Now traveling across the United States with his three children, he is on a remarkable family mission to complete 1,000 performances across all 50 states—having already surpassed 600.

Their performance embodies dedication and the spirit of cultural connection through powerful rhythm. You are welcome to attend!
