Critical Theory & Parapsychology with Jake Glazier, PhD

This presentation will focus primarily on material from the collection edited by Jake Glazier, called "Paranormal Ruptures: Critical Approaches to Exceptional Experience," including selections from his own chapter. He will also survey other contributions to the anthology to provide a broader picture of what a critical engagement with parapsychology might look like in practice. In addition, he will share insights from his current book project with Routledge, forthcoming in the Concepts for Critical Psychology series. Ultimately, this talk aims to inspire researchers, scholars, citizen scientists, and curious publics by demonstrating how the tools of Critical Theory can empower and enrich parapsychological inquiry--highlighting a future that is not only methodologically innovative but critically and politically engaged.
