Closing Reception: "Disobedient Subjects"

Don’t miss the chance to see "Disobedient Subjects: Bombay 1930–31" before it closes. Presented by Duke Center for Documentary Studies and the Alkazi Foundation, the exhibition brings together 55 rare photographs to illuminate the Civil Disobedience Movement in Bombay, highlighting women, everyday citizens and acts of anticolonial resistance nearly a century ago. At 6 p.m., Duke History faculty and exhibition curators Avrati Bhatnagar and Sumathi Ramaswamy will lead a walkthrough and share insights. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is kindly requested (but not required).
