Boogie Fever: 70s Funk & Disco
Step into a night of retro rhythm as you boogie, sip and sparkle to the vibrant, danceable sounds of 1970s funk and disco at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club’s recently reimagined Fairview Dining Room – a AAA Four Diamond lodging and dining destination nestled on Duke University’s scenic campus. “Boogie Fever: 70s Funk & Disco” invites guests into an evening of electric energy and infectious grooves, featuring hits from Queen, David Bowie, Donna Summer and Earth, Wind & Fire that defined the decade’s free spirited, flower power vibe.
Hosted in the Inn’s award-winning Fairview Dining Room, a live DJ from Hunky Dory Durham will spin classic funk and disco vinyl throughout the night, while a dedicated listening station lets guests get up close to the era’s iconic rhythms. Alongside the music, guests will savor a thoughtfully curated menu and a themed cocktail inspired by the era, with limited edition, vintage-inspired pricing — offered exclusively for the evening in celebration of the event and as a nod to disco’s funk, flair and unforgettable groove — featuring a specialty entrée and dessert for $25 and a $10 cocktail. The 1970s musical experience is part of the “Vintage Vibes” Vinyl Listening Series – a weekly program hosted by the Inn, immersing guests in the rhythm and culture of various musical eras in a refined, social atmosphere:
