Belgian National Day Celebration
Celebrate Belgian National Day with two featured drafts from two of Belgium's most well-known (and sought after) breweries.
Belgian National Day, celebrated every July 21st, marks Belgium's independence and heritage. For fans of beer, it's a special day to enjoy Belgium’s famous beers like Trappist ales, lambics, and strong ales often paired with traditional foods and festivities that highlight the country's rich brewing culture. It's a great occasion to raise a glass!
On tap, from Brewery Cantillon - Saint Lamvinus - rated 100, a world class beer on Beer Advocate. The grapes, of the merlot and cabernet-franc varieties, are soaked in Bordeaux barrels containing two to three years old lambic. The beer is not blended before the bottling. The foam is caused by the addition of a liquor which starts the fermentation. Cantillon is a small Belgian traditional family brewery based in Anderlecht, Brussels, founded in 1900 and exclusively brews lambic beers.
And from Huyghe Brewery - makers of Delirium beers - Delirium Barrel Aged Sour Blond. This Sour Blond is no ordinary aperitif. It spent 18 months chilling in oak barrels before maturing further in tanks. You'll find it's a refreshingly acidic beer that still gives you that fruity, malty richness of a proper Belgian tripel.
So come taste the Belgian difference with these special finds!
