Art Exhibit — Return to Parrish Street: A Dream Realized

Taking inspiration from Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes, the exhibition’s title is based on two poems: A Dream Deferred (1951) and The Dream Keeper (1932). Within Hughes’ extensive body of work on the subject, this pair of poems embodies the aspirational elements of dreams as goals, and their more enigmatic form as mysterious portals to the subconscious.

In this joint presentation, Clarence Heyward, Kennedi Carter and Ransome traverse the terrain of dreams through portraits and photography that probe perception, identity, and vulnerability. Together their work creates a visual dialog around dreams that brings Hughes’ prose to life.
