The composer/songwriter tandem of Edward “Duke” Ellington and Billy Strayhorn generated some of the most memorable songs of the 20th century. While Strayhorn was the lesser-known of the two, his mark on Ellingtonia was unmistakable from the early 1940s until his untimely death in 1967.
