Adult Workshops: Eco-Printing
This event is for adults, 18+.
In this 2 hour class from Bailey Wall of DyeAnthos Botanical Fiber Arts, students will learn how to make their own cotton bandana with a vibrant color background and will learn information on the eco-print art form. You will be using a mix of different deciduous and evergreen leaves and barks as well as flowers, stems, seeds, etc to get a vibrant mix of shapes and colors.
Eco-printing (a form of natural dyeing) is the art of getting an exact print from nature to fix onto natural fibers like cotton or silk. Using a steam/heat method along with a tight resist and just the natural chemicals in the plants (leaves, flowers, etc), it is possible to get permanent prints from nature to stay on the fabric.
