We had a great visit. Front desk staff was very kind when checking us in, our room felt spotless, the ease of getting to the DPAC was a perk & we had a great experience with the bar & food. Lucinda at the bar is a master at her craft. Each drink was prepared with care & consideration & you can see her pride in what she does. The gentleman that served us from the restaurant was also extremely kind & an obviously hard worker. So impressed during our stay!

Jenai (Front Desk Agent) was the most nice, professional, and welcoming hotel staff member throughout my stay. Her lovely attitude, friendly personality, and peaceful presence was nice to experience. Additionally, Christa and Eunice (Front Desk Agents) were always very nice and supportive during my stay.
Drew (Breakfast Cook) is very hardworking, easy to communicate with, and an all around great person that I enjoyed conversing with every morning during my breakfast visit.
I loved my room, the view, and only wished there was more closet hanging space. I will indeed return here for a future stay in Durham (Bull City), as the location was very convenient (even got an opportunity to see Hell's Kitchen at the beautiful DPAC, which was less than a two minute walk from the hotel) to many of downtown Durham's gems.

Chose this hotel based on proximity to DPAC. I wasn't welcomed as a reward member which has become important to me since I have patronized Marriott for many years. Room was comfortable and clean. The mini refrigerator is under the bathroom sink (odd).There was one bartender on staff at the hotel bar(really). My drink was horrible. Dont think I'll stay here again.

I've been staying here for quite a few years now to visit family. Never have had a bad experience. Clean rooms, love the lotion! Conveniently located. It's why I keep coming back!

A LOUD Train horn will prevent A GOOD NIGHT’s Sleep. Had a train wake me up at 5am blowing the horn constantly and again at 6am. There was an accident a few months ago on the track so now the horn just blows and blows and blows. Forget about sleeping in after 6am. Parking garage was a pain to get to and from the hotel. They can’t control the train but they can communicate this to guests.

The hotel was great. I arrived Tuesday evening, the women at the front desk were very welcoming! And the Xavier the bartender was incredible; great drinks and incredible service, and so personable!!!! Definitely see myself staying here when I come back!!

We haven’t even stayed the night yet, and I already LOVE the vibe! Everyone is so friendly, the rooms are super clean, and the bed is very comfortable. Can’t wait to stay the entire weekend here!
You HAVE to check out the bartender Amir at the WXYZ bar! He is a master!

Really not understanding the negative reviews. I stay at about a dozen hotels a year and this one is one I would definitely recommend. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is unmatched. The only negative I would say is that the room was sparsely decorated but that didn't bother me.

Set up of room is bad. Two beds, couch on one wall. TV not great to see from the bed on the left. Very Noisy, from workers yelling to each other to ac running to something running that we couldn't figure out or from where. Tree limbs being cut at 8am outside rooms. Not much of a lobby to gather. Good location for the ballgame. Response to managers response/ never said rooms were not big. Read again that noise was from workers and ac along with unk noise. Never said outside noise.

We had a wonderful stay here. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and welcoming. Amir (so sorry if I spelled that wrong), our bartender, was fantastic. I never waited for a drink, and we both enjoyed his company and conversation. The location is perfect, particularly if you’re visiting DPAC. My only criticism is that the shower is a little slippery. We’ll be back!

This is my second time staying here. Great location, area feels super safe, love the proximity to the theatre. Staff is super nice, can't wait to stay here again the next time I come through.

Aloft Downtown Durham was an incredible stay. We had our Family reunion in Durham, and we all stayed at the Aloft. The hotel was perfectly located in downtown Durham near shops, restaurants, and the legendary Durham Bulls Baseball stadium. We also want to give a huge shout out to Jacqueline at the Front Desk. She was at the front desk for the majority of our stay and made our stay even more comfortable. She was professional and took care of everything we needed. We will be back!

The hotel is a very short distance from the ball park we came to see. It's clean and neat. I'm not a big fan of the industrial vibe they had going on in the hallways.
It's overpriced, but clean. For the money it cost to stay there it would have been nice to have a complementary breakfast.

Love the location of the hotel to everything we like. The room was just ok. It wasn't the cleanest. It also wasn't the worst I've stayed in. Hilton properties are ALWAYS clean. Maybe Aloft could take some pointers from them. 🙂

The location is great - close to lots of eateries and event venues. Jolene has helped me a couple of times (both when I was a guest and when the hotel was booked and I was looking for something last-minute). She’s always super helpful and friendly.
