Attended a private event in the back room of this restaurant, which they charged a significant amount per head for. While the ambiance was fine (a little old school preppy but that's probably the vibe you'd expect), what I learned later was that when the organizers for my event tried to take home the leftover food (which keep in mind, we had paid for upfront and which we had a considerable amount left of top quality, expensive entrees and sides), the restaurant staff refused and said it was against their policy.
I think this is something that overly high end spots do to appear more exclusive, but it's a disgusting behavior in an environment where there's already so much food waste in the world. On top of that, we as the guests had already paid for and had rights to that food (only about 50% of people signed up showed up, but we still paid for all 100% of the food).
Personally I would never host an event here given this ridiculous wasteful behavior; if you do just make sure to look out for the food waste clause and negotiate that upfront.
