Viceroy is a quaint authentic Indian spot in downtown Durham, the interior is Indian focus, yet accents of pub style vibe. The team members are personable + menu knowledgeable. If you sit at the bar, Matt, and his side kick, Annie can assist with wine pairings for the curries, and they’re both helpful when picking the right dish. The great thing about Viceroy is no matter the curry you order, they tailor to your spice level. Mild, Medium, or bring on the heat. Whatever curry you get, don’t forget the naan. See pictures with the details. They do offer daily specials too! Will always return here, one of the best spots in Durham, especially during the fall months.

Fun and busy downtown spot! Fast service, large space with unique decor. Plenty of options for food and beverage, and high quality mocktails. Be sure to get a reservation.

Viceroy creates a magic with its authentic flavors and classic Independence era British pub vibe. Located in the heart of downtown Durham, it has a warm and inviting ambiance and a concise menu of mouthwatering dishes that captivate you upon selection. Palak chaat was a great start with its crispy Palak pakoras and Besan flavor topped generously with chutneys & yogurt to create a delightful chaat. Jeera Wings were even more fulfilling , with plump looking and tandoori-fied cumin heavy chicken drumsticks served over a bed of roasted veggies and complimented by cool raita. From the Mains, I tried their classic Paneer Makhanwala and Smoked Daal Bukhara along with Garlic Naan. What can I say- it was so so delicious. The sweet, creamy, delicately spiced gravy went so well with the perfectly charred Garlic Naan. Finally dessert- I settled with the innovative cadbury kheer which was awesome. Real Cadbury chocolate flavor without it being too dominant. The rice however were basmati- bit odd choice for a kheer. It should have the short grain rice instead. Service is very attentive & personable. Although i feel they should provide more privacy at times. All on all- a fantastic experience. Indian verified.

Viceroy, serving Indian fusion dishes stands top on my list for one of the best Indian food places. Freshly made, flavorful and served piping hot. Been here multiple times now and enjoyed an amazing dine in experience! Recommend making a reservation ahead! Must try- Palak patha chaat, Butter Chicken, Lamb chops, Anjeer kofta, Caramel kheer

We came in for an early dinner but didn't make a reservation. The manager told us there's a table available but it's reserved for a party in an hour. Can you be done by then? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED for two New Yorkers. We ordered the Mushroom Tandoori to share. The spice marinade is tasty and the mushrooms themselves are juicy while the exterior is well coated with spice. It's a great appetizer. For dinner we ordered the Paneer Mykanwala and Chicken Vindaloo. Both curries came out piping hot and delicious. The Paneer is tasty with a creamy sauce. The Chicken vindaloo has a great acidic kick. All in all, the service is great. And the food is amazing. Looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

Great atmosphere, service, food and drinks! Make sure you have a reservation for this hidden gem. The inside of this restaurant is so nice; perfect date night to dress up for! I had the chicken korma and the seasonal watermelon margarita.

Wanted to dine in at a new place this time apart from Cary or morrisville area and found this restaurant in Raleigh. First thing I observed is there are plenty of parking spots behind the restaurant and need not worry of finding a spot for street parking. Tried the appetizers all of them tasted really good and fresh. The main course menu is kind a limited that is the only concern which let me give just 4.5 stars apart from that everything checks out. Worth a try

Amazing cocktails - Spicy Papi and Tamarind Daiquiri delicious- neither were too sweet. Food was excellent! Only spent 2 nights in Durham and night one was so good - came back a second night! Samosa, Goni Sukka, Palak Chaat, lamb lollipops, Momos and Murg Mykanwala - all delicious! Don't come to Durham and miss this restaurant!!!

We had dinner at this restaurant for the first time in Durham and it was simply amazing. I had the Red Thai Seafood curry and it was delicious, my daughter had the chicken curry which tasted it amazing and my beautiful wife had the Chana Masala because of Gluten allergies, it was delicious. The service was great, the establishment had an incredible atmosphere. Everyone that worked there seemed very happy and courteous. We definitely will be coming back! I highly recommend this restaurant bar. Very happy with the prices too. Definitely a must when visiting Durham NC

I have to say, after a long time I had the best Indian food. Food was so tasty can’t even stop telling people that they should try. Smaller plates to entrées every dish was delicious. We had the Mixed grill it was so good. I loved the sarso ka saag ( Mustered green) with panner, ordered 2 of them. Just tell your spice level and will suggest mild to low, or else it will be little to hot for some people. Ambiance wise it was loud, don’t expect to have quite dinner. Food service was pretty fast and foods came out very hot. Overall one of the best.

Celebrated my birthday dinner with wife and mother in-law here last Sunday. We were all extremely happy with every dish, drink and service. The vege dumpling appetizer was a flavor and texture party on the palate. I had the lamb lollipops and they offered the most spicy option of "Fire in the hole", which I went for and was drinking lots of water with a smile. First time I've had lamb lollipops anything other than medium rare and they were so juicy and tender, delicious. They serve them medium well. I tried a little of everything and they were all fantastic. Our server was training a new hire and they were both very polite and nice. The training didn't hinder our experience at all. They were on top of keeping the water carafe filled. Thankfully so with my spicy choice. The food came out quickly and seemingly perfect timing between finishing appetizers and ready for entrees. The drinks were great and brought over in a timely fashion as well. I recommend the tequila+ coconut milk + coconut water + cinnamon syrup one with thai chili. Parking was the only downside but we were lucky and found a sidewalk space. We did book reservation 6days ahead of time. We will be going here again 100%.

Great atmosphere for a cute little date downtown. The food was pretty good, but not so great that we’d make a regular spot out of it, and the portions were pretty small. The momos were good but the whole plate was covered in garnish that you really wouldn’t want to eat and doesn’t add anything to the dish at all. The beef was definitely our favorite part.
