I'll be honest, when my wife said she wanted to go to a tuba museum and that a weekend visit was $25 I was pretty sure I was going to HATE it. Boy oh boy did I eat my words! I was expecting to be let into a room full of instruments and left to just look at them on my own. Instead Vincent welcomed us in and proceeded to give us the best tour I may have had anywhere! He's incredibly knowledgeable, and makes learning about these instruments engaging and very interesting. If you have any interest in musical instruments, history or just like the show "How It's Made" you'll love this museum!

Worth a visit. Vincent spent 1.5 hours with us on a Saturday, which was far longer than I expected, but would have liked some time just to browse (as well as take photos/video). Clearly something he has invested a portion of his life into. Better organized than I expected. Hope it can continue and maybe even become nicer (glad it survived the pandemic). Great unique place in Durham.

I think of the tuba museum and Vincent often, just great all around.

Jim provided us with an exuberant service, and was willing to take the time out of his day to come to us even though we had no appointment, unfortunately we were not able to make it in the end, but will definitely be back!! :)

It was very educational and fun to see and hear about all the different kinds of tubas and sousaphones. :)

If you love the tuba the collection is amazing with examples going back to the invention of the instrument. The collection is vast but there's not a lot of information available on the history and it would be nice to understand and hear the difference between the special tubas or euphoniums.

Vince is so passionate about his collection that you can't help but be drawn in. We are not tuba players but we enjoyed the tour.
