It was my first time at True Flavors. The wait time was long, but food made up for it for sure. My server was very nice,pleasant, warm,friendly, and attentive. I believe his name was Dave or David. Also, the other Hispanic lady was sweet. I will definitely recommend and pass the word around that this is a spot to come.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning and was so impressed! Menu has a lot to offer but I was especially excited to see a vegetarian option (the mushroom, cheese and eggs biscuit) and it turned out delicious— really thoughtfully made and came out hot and fresh. Very reasonable pricing too for such beautifully plated and generous portion. Service was also so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return!

I got the beef sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. That thing was huge! It ended up being 3 meals worth for me. Yes, it reheats well. Good flavor, and the biscuit wasn't dry.
The mini biscuits they bring to the table with strawberry jam are good, just a tad heavy on the butter in my opinion but still really tasty.

My wife and I decided to give this place a try, I'm so glad we did, when we got there it was pretty packed, the only spot they had open were the stools, so I would except a wait, but it is worth the wait, the vanilla bean ice coffee I got was really good, along with the blackberry lime French toast, my wife got a regular coffee and an omelet with grits , she said she really enjoyed it, and as an appetizer they bring out homemade biscuits and jam, they were some of the best biscuits I have ever had. Also the menu has alot of options. Definitely recommend this place,and me and my wife will be returning.

I've been coming here since 2018 when a friend recommended it - this is absolutely my FAVORITE restaurant anywhere!! my family and I ordered to go from here throughout the pandemic (when they were closed for sit-down service) and have been blown away by the amazing food for years!! you HAVE to try the rotating specials - they're always so creative and delicious!
Colin has usually been our waiter and he is wonderful! he jokes with customers and gives honest reviews about the specials and other dishes. it has been so cool seeing True Flavors evolve from a tiny, well-kept secret to the must-visit highlight of Durham dining!!

This is our favorite breakfast place!! The menu is anything but basic and is always changing. We have yet to find anything on the menu we don’t enjoy. The portion sizes are huge and make great left overs. Service is also always great and very quick!
I ordered the bacon, ham, and cheese omelette and my boyfriend ordered the fried pork chop and gravy biscuit. Both were soo good!!

Not sure how I hadn't found this place sooner but I'm glad I found it now. Stopped in for an amazing breakfast and am still full hours later. The food was great, service was excellent and the prices were fair. I'll absolutely go back.

As always, True Flavors Diner brings the most tasty brunch you’ll find on the area, and every dish comes out looking like a work of art. Buttery biscuits (amazing as always), fried chicken biscuit sandwich and brown butter pumpkin French toast were the picks today. Come when you’re hungry, because the portions are huge! 🤤

The food tastes just as good as it looks! My boyfriend got the duck crackle pop, Cajun grits and cheesy skillet potatoes. He’s not the biggest fan of grits but he said those were the best grits he’s ever had! I got the sriracha honey chicken biscuit and it was to die for! Absolutely could not recommend enough! Collin was our server and he was a awesome. Very attentive, knowledgeable and conversational.

True Flavors Diner is less of a diner and more of an upscaled southern classics eatery. If you're familiar with Hash House A Go Go in Vegas, True Flavors is very reminiscent of that place and the "twisted farm food" approach to breakfast.
True Flavors' dishes are daring, loud, and interesting takes on southern staples like biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and grits bowls. The food was great and visually stunning, and the portions are outrageous. In a huge plus for me, they offer 3 or 4 different types of gravy (including duck gravy), as I really don't care for sausage in my gravy.
The portion size actually helped counteract what I felt was a significant price tag for breakfast ($60+ for two) as my partner and I both made a meal out of the leftovers for lunch the following day (still delicious).
I do have to admit that our server was a bit curt and the food was (a little) slow to come out, but they were quite knowledgeable about the menu and brought us out some incredible complimentary biscuits while we waited on our food.
One very small nitpick is that the tables for two are almost comically long. Expect to be sitting 4 feet away from your dining partner if eating with one other person. Again, this isn't a big deal, but we found it quite funny and were willing to overlook it for those biscuits and delicious blended coffee drinks.
Finally, you can probably expect to wait to get into this place. If you go on Saturday, this turns out to be blessing! Just outside in the parking lot is a local farmers market that features fresh produce and craft treats from triangle farmers and artisans. This turned our 30+ minute wait from an inconvenience into a lovely opportunity to browse some local produce.

I was looking for a good breakfast spot and saw the reviews. Several said the customer service was bad. I did not see that at all. Even the other customers because the restaurant was packed. Everyone seemed to get the service you would expect at a 4 star restaurant. My waitress answered all of my questions and was super helpful and friendly. The presentation of the food was on point and it was so flavorful and delicious. It’s was a pricey breakfast because I wanted to try several items but the portions were huge. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

True Flavors is my favorite brunch spot ever hands-down; a feeling shared by any one of my friends who I have brought along to join. The food is amazing and full of genuine flavor which can be hard to come by. I love how the menu changes slightly every week which offers me new things to try. The portions are generous and worth the price range you pay. I have been several times and NEVER had an issue with service (yes you may wait 20-30 minutes to be seated but so worth it). If needed, waiters will take time to talk you through the menu to help you pick something to your liking, and the food comes out very fast. The waiters will often recognize me as a regular which makes me want to come back again and again.

True Flavors is absolutely delicious! There are so many options on the menu, perfect for everyone’s tastes. The food was incredibly flavorful, the fried chicken was tender, and the combination of ingredients was 100. The staff are super polite, professional, and kind. We did not wait long at all for our food to come out. The inside is such a great vibe too. Highly recommend, will be going again!

Lovely local diner with many unique food options (think beyond two eggs, toast, and breakfast meat). Love everything here. Weekends are pretty busy and can have longer waits; try coming on a weekday to get a table quickly. Portions are generous so come hungry!
