Tobacco Road Sports Cafe
Phone: (919) 937-9909
You know the sports bar that has wall-to-wall TVs, overloaded nachos, a great beer selection and comfy chairs? Tobacco Road is that -- and something wholly unique with its location overlooking the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Watch for home runs, or stop in for elevated bar food before a show at DPAC. Pro-tip: when the Durham Bulls are in season, sitting on the patio offers a free fireworks show every Friday (and most Saturday) nights.

Delicious! Compliments to the chef! We enjoyed a reasonably priced and fresh meal! Definitely try the fried green tomatoes, four slices of rich flavor and a new take on a country classic. The strawberry avocado salad was filling and beautifully plated. The ultimate nachos while an entree are big enough to share. Service was fast and friendly. Worth a stop and return visit! -
Outstanding service you couldn't ask for more. I believe our waitress was Emily and she was beyond excellent. We have never eaten here before which she recommended the 2 chicken breasts on top of mashed potatoes, with grilled veggies and a honey gravy and my with had the shrimp and grits which she couldn't stop talking about. WOW!!! I know you usually only give 5 stars for the service and food but I would give at least a million stars. Usually we don't eat desert but it was highly recommend to get the brownie with vanilla ice cream, a little chocolate sauce and cherries. Really it melted in your mouth and the brownie was slightly warm which really topped it off. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go and enjoy the atmosphere, the outstanding service and the wonderful food. Best of all it is not expensive which really surprised us. -
We had a great experience from start to finish!! From the welcoming into the restaurant and with our server Bria!! It was such a vibe seating out on the deck overlooking the Durham Bulls Stadium!! The food was spectacular!! -
Great visit - here for the Garmin Durham Half Marathon. I expected it to be busy with everything going on this weekend in the city but there was no wait at the bar. Food was delicious and quick. In and out within 45 minutes - friendly service too by the bartenders. Only wish they played the game at the ballpark on one of the TVs! -
We arrived on what was a busy sports night. We were told that our wait would be 30-35 minutes. So we went to the bar to get some drinks while we waited. The bar staff inside was horrible and seemed like they did not want to be there… not really a vibe you want to encounter when you are out for a good time. Thankfully, the bartender that was outside was wonderful and friendly, although her bar was very lacking of important things, We made it to 45 minutes.. so I approach the hostess to ask how much longer or would be. I was told with significant attitude that it would be an additional 30 to 40 minutes. When it was pointed out that she quoted 30/
35 minutes… I was told “well I can’t help how long some one sits at a treble. THAT IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. We finally got a seat outside… but it took over 15 minutes for a server to come and greet our table. There are many things that would make this business better but it would seem the the staff would not care to hear it.
Honestly the overall experience was horrible and inwmjoyae.
