Oddities show was incredible!! Loved the vendors, very off the wall items for sale, creative artists providing music, really cool experience. -
Such a cool, funky, and artsy space, involving the remodeling of a fruit and produce warehouse (hence the name)! I have been to two events here and have always loved this venue. Parking is available across the street however can get filled up quickly. However, other parking spaces are also available at a slight distance. -
My first time at the venue. I was the line dance call for the Biscuits and Banjos festival. It's located downtown. There's a few lots around the building for parking and it's not free. The entrance into The Fruit is clearly marked. The decor is interesting. Unisex bathrooms. The dance floor is cement, so if you have bad knees or ankles, use caution. The flooring is the only reason why the place received 4 stars. Wood floors are better for dancing. The stage is a good size. The acoustics were great. The bar looked fully stocked. The attendees had plenty of room to square and line dance. I had a lot of fun square dancing and doing the calling for line dancing. The Fruit would be a good place to rent for hosting a celebration, recital, or comedy show. -
The Fruit in Durham completely blew me away! I went with my sister for my very first rave, and we had an absolute blast. The venue itself feels like a high-end, highly creative dungeon with different themed rooms and compartments to explore.
The vibe was incredibly welcoming—everyone truly came as they were. The whole night felt wonderfully psychedelic, circus-ish, and translucent, packed with gorgeous holographic colors and neon lights. The production was next-level: DJs spun incredible trance and house music across different stations, and there were breathtaking circus performers hanging from the ceiling, vendors selling unique trinkets, a free popcorn machine, and even people spinning fire outside! We also caught an amazing private showcase featuring local talent doing poetry, dancing, and lip-syncing.
The line to get in moved surprisingly fast. The drinks were a bit overpriced, but honestly, given today's economy and how incredible the experience was, it was totally worth it. We didn't want the night to end. The Fruit is widely creative and imaginative—a absolute must-go! We can't wait to return. -
I came here to see a jooselord show and the venue was nice and big and it sounded great in there. The bar items where reasonably priced and they had a pretty good selection. Would Definitely see another show here
