I recently had breakfast at Common Market in Durham and really enjoyed the experience! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with friendly and helpful staff who made me feel right at home. The food came out quickly and was delicious, and I appreciated the ample seating options both indoors and outdoors—great for enjoying a relaxed meal in a bustling environment.
One note is that since they have multiple vendors, you may need to check out separately for food and coffee, but it’s a minor inconvenience compared to the overall positive vibe and quality. Highly recommend for a great breakfast stop in Durham!

Came here after hiking Eno and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. I got the Alabama Grinder and it was honestly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. HIGHY RECOMMEND. Will absolutely come back after my next hike.

This is the sandwich place I’ve been wanting forever! Sandwiches are incredibly delicious, huge and very reasonably priced. The Smoking Hot Momma is the best veg sandwich ever. Staff is always friendly. Huge bonus that you can end your meal with Parlour ice cream. Doesn’t get better.

10/10 recommend getting the pimpin d or the sinatra sandwhich. Service was great, and I loved the decor/atmosphere. I rarely write reviews but i felt compelled to write one today because this is a wonderful small business. My only complaint is that I wish i knew about this place sooner. The common market is my new favorite lunch spot in durham, definitely will be back! :)

The Market space is large enough with well spaced tables, that even when crowded, it is not noisy. The owners are ever present to greet one- they get to know the community residents, which I find a big plus. I love their many vegetarian menu choices, and that their ‘salads’ aren’t heavy with mayonnaise. Their ginger carrot soup is to die for!!!

My sons convinced me to go here even though they know how I feel about sandwich shops, that being too little food for too much money. For the most part CM lived up to that. The roast beef sandwich I had was very good, the only problem being the small, over even very small, quantity of roast beef in the sandwich, mostly it was just the bun and a lot of lettuce. Price wise it was reasonable. I can't say I cared for the way the ordering system is set up, nor the set up of the restaurant itself, too loud and busy. On the bright side, the service was great and the staff were very friendly.

This place is the #1 lunch spot in Durham! They have the vibes. The music, ambiance, lighting, unique setting, and most importantly, incredible sandwiches. Great service, especially from Jeanette! Will be back soon to try other amazing items on the menu!

An interesting atmosphere with a large variety of drink and menu options. Good food and good folks working there. Cool place to meet friends or sit alone with a book.

Great spot to visit on the way to Eno River, offering a variety of sandwiches, beer, snacks and even a cute coffee shop. I was really looking forward to the BLT with garlic mayo on sourdough, but was disappointed to find it had minimal bacon, the garlic mayo was overly salty rather than garlicky, and it was served on white bread. Husband enjoyed the “Billy club”.

I have been to this shop a couple times, it seems like a cool place. They just opened up recently so I know it will improve as more things are established and vendors open up. I wish it was more of a bodega or convenience store. I think the area would benefit from a small shop to pick up the essentials like milk, bread, butter, etc. It can still have all the other things that make Common Market special, like the bar and other vendors. I just wish that they were more affordable. I have no doubt that they will have success with their current business model. I was just hoping for something a little different. Either way, great place and I wish them well. Definitely worth checking them out. They are unique addition to the Durham area.
