The Market space is large enough with well spaced tables, that even when crowded, it is not noisy. The owners are ever present to greet one- they get to know the community residents, which I find a big plus. I love their many vegetarian menu choices, and that their ‘salads’ aren’t heavy with mayonnaise. Their ginger carrot soup is to die for!!!

My sons convinced me to go here even though they know how I feel about sandwich shops, that being too little food for too much money. For the most part CM lived up to that. The roast beef sandwich I had was very good, the only problem being the small, over even very small, quantity of roast beef in the sandwich, mostly it was just the bun and a lot of lettuce. Price wise it was reasonable. I can't say I cared for the way the ordering system is set up, nor the set up of the restaurant itself, too loud and busy. On the bright side, the service was great and the staff were very friendly.

This place is the #1 lunch spot in Durham! They have the vibes. The music, ambiance, lighting, unique setting, and most importantly, incredible sandwiches. Great service, especially from Jeanette! Will be back soon to try other amazing items on the menu!

An interesting atmosphere with a large variety of drink and menu options. Good food and good folks working there. Cool place to meet friends or sit alone with a book.

Great spot to visit on the way to Eno River, offering a variety of sandwiches, beer, snacks and even a cute coffee shop. I was really looking forward to the BLT with garlic mayo on sourdough, but was disappointed to find it had minimal bacon, the garlic mayo was overly salty rather than garlicky, and it was served on white bread. Husband enjoyed the “Billy club”.

I have been to this shop a couple times, it seems like a cool place. They just opened up recently so I know it will improve as more things are established and vendors open up. I wish it was more of a bodega or convenience store. I think the area would benefit from a small shop to pick up the essentials like milk, bread, butter, etc. It can still have all the other things that make Common Market special, like the bar and other vendors. I just wish that they were more affordable. I have no doubt that they will have success with their current business model. I was just hoping for something a little different. Either way, great place and I wish them well. Definitely worth checking them out. They are unique addition to the Durham area.

Our daughter lives in Charlotte and we love going to the common market on Monroe Street. We knew the owners were the same for this location. This location is a little more polished and a little less quirky than the Monroe location. We love the food, we love the beer but the service was less than we expected. This is a fairly new location so hopefully service will improve. They are successful.

This place is amazing! I came back two days in a row because of the awesome food and the pleasurable experience I had. I felt welcome when I walked in. All the staff were friendly and the food was amazing! To add, they have an awesome selection of beer downstairs! I highly recommend.

Decent food and space, but need to get their wait times down. Not looking to wait 45 + minutes for sandwiches . There was zero line at checkout counter and space didn’t seem that busy, so wait time was unexpected. Wish the cashier would have at least given us a heads up about wait time before we placed the order.

Diamond in the rough. Get the buddharito (the breakfast menu runs til 2 on Sundays). Bob Ross runs on loop always (downstairs by the taps & canned beer selection) or bring your beer up to the patio. Excellent everything - 5 stars.

thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Went with a party of 8 on a Saturday, we each waited about 10 max 15 mins for our food (cold sandwiches, made to order). Grabbed drinks and sat outside while we waited. All staff insanely friendly, decent parking. Will be back :)

A cool new spot in durham. The breakfast items were basic, bland and greasy, but not inedible. There are lots of cool gifts and silly things to buy, as well as good beer and wine to try. The atmosphere was hectic, with kids running around like crazy. This definitely isn’t a quiet place to grab a quick bite.
