I am a big fan of this place. It was a great experience overall.
I wanted breakfast this morning and drove here after seeing something different in maps.
I walked up the ordering window/door and was greeted by a gentleman that helped with my order.
He got me a plate with sausage patties, country ham, scrambled eggs with cheese, seasoned potatoes, and bread lightly toasted. He worked his way to the team inside and it was only $11. It was cash only and that is not an issue to me.
The food was hot and fresh and everything was delicious. I would definitely come here again when I'm in the area. -
Today was my first time visiting after watching a TikTok. Great food, good customer service, and reasonably priced. I had the breakfast plate, salmon pattie, grits, and scrambled eggs with cheese for $10. Spent an extra $1 for a cup of lemonade. The parking is street parking and the place is walk-up windows only. I will be back. -
One of my favorite places to grab a to go order. Although they specifically specialize in breakfast, its definitely one of the best places to grab a to go order that tastes like grandma's kitchen & doesn't break the bank! Wordup, Tater Bread is a cornerstone in Durham & has a black owner who has been vital in our Durham community for years. So go grab a breakfast plate! -
This morning I ordered a chicken sausage platter. When I received it , it looked like it could be a mixture of chicken, pork & beef sausage. I am currently 7 months pregnant so I didn’t want to risk getting sick from it . So I took it back asked for turkey bacon & offered to pay for the bacon since I did order chicken sausage and they gave me what they had. This is the turkey bacon the cook gave me!! She actually did this on purpose seeing that I was pregnant & knowing that I offered to pay for the bacon . She had a slick look on her face asking me how long it’s been since I ate pork as if I was a liar. Then she wrapped it up & sent me back to my car . When I opened it this is what I received. I believe they are used to a certain type of crowd because even on days when the older guy is not there she makes up her own prices to give me. I feel like that was very evil of her to look at that bacon & feel comfortable serving that to me especially seeing that I was pregnant. I will never go here again!! You can’t be an ill willed person cooking peoples food. At that point I wasn’t able to eat the bacon , nor the so called chicken sausage. Which anyone who doesn’t eat pork can look at that sausage & tell it is not just chicken sausage. It has something else in it as well. I’m not even mad about the chicken sausage I’m mad about the bacon she proceeded to serve me seeing that I was pregnant & about to pop. For you to be able to do this to a woman who’s expecting you have no heart!! Crazy part is I offered to pay for the turkey bacon she didn’t have to do me like that. I wouldn’t advise this place to anyone because the cook is evil , mean spirited but what she didn’t know is that I am prayed over & I wasn’t gone come back causing ruckus. This review was all the ruckus I needed to leave!!! -
I went here for the first time after a recommendation of some folks at Tribal Fitness and it did not disappoint. Had the BEC biscuit, hasbrowns and onions and a piece of tater bread. Walter was so kind a welcoming and the food was hot, hearty and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back to try lunch and bring my dad to have the corn beef hash
