I had a birthday brunch for my daughter on Saturday. We drove from Benson for the shrimp and grits, only to find that it was only on Sundays. So we ordered the jambalaya and the red beans and rice. Our disappointment quickly faded because both of these dishes were fantastic! Our waiter ( I wish I could remember his name) was one of the best. He even brought my daughter a piece of rum cake with a candle for her birthday! We will definitely be visiting again.

An awesome restaurant in a unique location! We ordered the Shrimp & Grits and the Gumbo over rice and were completely satisfied. Great taste and great portions. The strawberry lemonade was great too! Planning to stop by again during my next visit to Durham.

This is a hidden gem. You walk inside to an instant New Orleans vibe. The specials delivered on creativity and taste. I had the short ribs omelet with crispy breakfast potatoes. Their sangria was delicious as we're the beignets with rum sauce. I can't wait to return for the Mardi Gras celebration.

Arrived for a solo dinner. There was a bit of a wait because the place was packed but I’m glad I waited. I decided on the brisket. It came out quickly, very smoky moist and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes were crispy soft on the inside and delicious. The slaw was crunchy and fresh, and I finished off with a nice desert (crème brûlée empanada) overall a great experience. Interior was very cute. I’ll come back!

The server was great the restaurant looks really hipsterish, not in a bad way or anything like that. It’s fitting , really nice inside. The cauliflower with hot honey was amazing, highly recommended. Little disappointed in the brisket though. Seemed like it was cooked in the oven over being smoked. Not that it was bad but was a little tough, only reason as to why the three star rating. Also if the server does read this review, we did find the Brunswick stew. Thank you very much! Would recommend this place and would love to come back when we’re in the area.

It was our first time here and we definitely will be back! The food was incredible. We had the Smoked Brisket Plate, the Shrimp Creole (Special of the night), and the Rum Cake (not pictured). The service was also excellent.

An excellent restaurant. We had the brisket, the fried seafood plate, and a side of gumbo. Each dish was perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt comfortable and inviting.

I’m from Louisiana and have a very different palate! This was great! This was my second experience just for a heat check and it was great!
I had the Loaded potatoes and the burnt ends! Some of the best I’ve ever had!
I’m putting them on our monthly rotation until we’ve done the menu

Service/Vibes: Rustic/homey/festive decor, has bar seating. Service was fine.
Food:
Brisket plate: Brisket was kinda inconsistent. Some of it was tender and moist, some was kinda hard and dry. Some of the potatoes were a touch undercooked, but crispy outside and well seasoned. The cabbage slaw was vinegary and a nice cut against the heaviness of the other food.
Gumbo: Seemed a bit on the salty side, but comes with a piece of very light, airy, and crusty bread

First time here. We had Brisket, jambalaya and seafood gumbo (Friday is seafood). Everything was great - interestingly the brisket was best (surprised all three of us this was best)- tender, tasty and just great. Great service and relaxed/local atmosphere. Located in residential area - unique and local. Has patio.

I absolutely enjoy going to succotash with my lovely lady! We’ve been here over 30 times within the last few years. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! Going to succotash for the live music and great food is one of my favorite things to do.

I recently came for the Sunday brunch and will definitely be back for dinner soon. Not to be dramatic but the food was aMaZiNg!We ordered the brisket and grits, gumbo and beingets and all were insanely good and very filling. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food you got as well. The vibes were very relaxed and the service was great. This spot is absolutely a hidden gem!
