When I first started staying here, it was the best!!! Here lately things has been not so good. There has been toilet issues where I had to walk out my suite and pass the front desk all night to use the bathroom after having a chemotherapy treatment that day. Next time I asked for a blanket and it was FULL of hair. My towels to dry off with were too. Hair was left in the shower and floor. To me that's NASTY!!!! I love the set up of the suites but things can well needs to be done better. -
Hotel refund policies shouldn’t punish people for getting sick, but that’s exactly what happened here. I’m leaving a 1-star review because the hotel refused to refund my night or move my reservation to a different date, even though I called around 12:30 PM the day of check-in.
• I had the flu and didn’t want to risk getting other guests sick. I offered to provide medical documentation.
• Priceline called on my behalf to move the dates, and the hotel denied it.
• I also spoke to the manager directly and got the same answer.
• Corporate reservations said the hotel was close to fully booked, so reselling the room likely wouldn’t have been an issue.
To be fair, the manager (Shadrika) was polite. But the lack of flexibility and refusal to work with a sick guest makes this an easy 1 star. If you’re booking here, assume you’ll get zero help if anything unexpected comes up—even with a noon same day notice. -
I really enjoyed my few stays here.. Plenty of various restaurants in the area and I must say I got the best sleep in the king size mattress that they have.. 10 out of 10 hotels beds that I've stayed at.. Great service as well!! I will be back when I'm in this area!! -
Stayed for a night for a concert in Carrboro. Rooms were clean, spacious, and affordable. Complimentary social event have us a Mac and Cheese bar and breakfast fed us the whole time we were here. -
We stayed here 2 nights, originally booking a 2 full bed 1 BR non-smoking suite room . However, when we walked in our room, it had such an overpoweringly musty and old cigarette odor that we asked for a new room. The very nice and helpful young black man working the evening shift (wish I had his name to thank him) kindly moved us into a king 1 BR suite handicapped accessible (because they were sold out of the norms) which smelled much fresher. The pull-out couch I slept on, however, was terrible--a 4 inch worn-out cheap spring mattress on top of a worn out frame, so it sagged severely and left me with a very stiff back. There were stains on the couch cushions and the mattress cover had sweat stains, so they could do better deep cleaning. The next morning I asked for a roll-away, but they had none. They did install another bad, thin spring mattress on top of the first, which was only slightly better. Do not plan to sleep on their pull out couch if you weigh more than 50 pounds. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking very simple meals and the bathroom was very spacious. The big disappointment was the maintenance of the breakfast items. Yes, the selection is large, but the quality overall was very poor. We went at 9am-- the hot water dispenser had lukewarm water in it, as if it had been sitting since the night before. Two days in a row, the mixed melon and grape fruit tasted fermented and the orange juice was fizzy and foamy-- either it was mixed with carbonated water (not sure this would be possible as it was a separate machine from the soft drinks) or it was also was fermenting. The staff sat in the back kitchen on their phones and seemed perturbed when I asked for more blueberries. One female employee walked to the cooler, got some packaged containers of berries from the cooler and (looking annoyed), dumped them into the serving trays without washing them. Overall, a mediocre stay in Durham.
