This beloved soul-food spot has graduated from catering and a food truck to a brick-and-mortar location serving hearty comfort classics like smothered pork chops, turkey wings, fried fish, mac and cheese, yams, and rice with gravy. Known for their generous portions and home-cooked flavors, it’s the kind of place where the food is rich, soulful and made to make you smile. Got a crowd to feed? Don’t worry, catering is still available.

I decided to try here after my sister said she saw it on Tik Tok. I was unknowingly about 5 minutes away! Be aware the directions will take you to the food truck parked across the street but the restaurant is literally a cross the street :). I was greeted at the door and qas able to order at the register. I was helped by a very nice lady that provided recommendations. I got the turkey wings with yellow rice, mac n cheese and collard greens. Everything was seasoned perfectly and flavorful! The restaurant itself was clean, bustling and moving like clockwork. I would definitely be back to try their other selections.

My first time visiting this restaurant was awesome. The customer service was very fast, friendly and helpful. I waited less than 10 minutes for my food. Everything was very hot and fresh and full of flavor. Everyone in the facility was very busy but served Service with a smile. I also enjoyed having someone take my order while I waited in line because it made for speedier service. Thank you will definitely be back.

I visited this restaurant for the first time during the Grand OPEN on Day #1 and let me tell you the D,Live Band, and Singers were amazing. The entertainment for sure made the 2hr wait worth it and the food was good too. The food did not disappoint so I can't wait to go back for seconds. If it wasn't chilly out I would have stayed and ate at the "cookout" If you are looking for soul food that reminds you of the best dishes from the family cookout then So Forking Good is a must try!!

I’ve frequented Soul Forking Good when they had the food truck and fell in love. I found out that they had a store front and drove all the way from Zebulon to get food today, 10/8/25. I’m sorry but the food was not the same as before. I ordered white rice w/ gravy and put in the notes/instructions for extra gravy. As you can see in the pic, nothing. The rice was bland as well. The greens were too spicy for my liking but the meatloaf saved it (sort of). As for the service, it was just okay. I’m someone that likes to say “thank you and hope you have a great day”. Buddy who gave me my order, didn’t say anything after sitting my order up on the counter or wait to make sure everything was okay. I admit that I didn’t check before I left but as a restaurant, it’s important to check orders before they leave too. For $20 for my plate, it’s not worth it for me today. Lastly, the atmosphere: the music was way too loud. I didn’t talk to anyone but you could hear customers shouting and that’s not good. All in all, I’m happy that the owners got a brick and mortar restaurant but I probably have to think about coming back for myself. It’s just disappointing that I found a spot and be let down. If the owners read this and want to reach out, #116 was my order number.

My husband and I have been hearing so much hype about “Soul Forking Good” so we definitely had to try it. My husband had the fried whiting plate with Mac & cheese, yellow rice and collard greens. I had the turkey wings w/ yellow rice, Mac & cheese and cabbage, and an extra side of yams. The fish had such a nice taste 10/10, the collards he loved 10/10. We both agreed that the Mac & cheese was flavorless/bland, not what we expected 3/10. Rice was good 10/10. Cabbage were too large, seemed a little overcooked, not seasoned well 3/10. Yams were not sweet enough and were dry, it was just like eating a baked sweet potato lightly sweetened 5/10. Crumble cake- was decent not $7/slice worth 8/10. Overall food rating 7/10. Service was good 9/10; the atmosphere was extremely busy, crowded, limited space 6/10. We drove over 2hrs so I was definitely hoping to give this restaurant a 10/10, but I was expecting the food to be “to die for” so to speak. Wasn’t worth the drive, but because my husband and I like to travel it was ok. Maybe next time we try it, it’ll be a better experience and not as busy day.
