I've had fresher (and way more affordable) sushi from a Harris teeter deli. This smelled and tasted so off that I threw it away after two bites. Couldn’t get a refund because I ordered through a delivery service. Maybe the in-house dining experience is better, but this is NOT somewhere to get takeout at the very least. -
Overall excellent experience! The greeter, who was also our server, was super positive. It was a large menu. Our server offered suggestions, which we tried and did not regret a single one.
The food was fresh and expertly prepared. I ordered the Penang curry, and it was just as I imagined it should be - a little coconut, a smidgen spicy, entirely delicious. My wife and son loved the bibimbap and vermicelli noodles with beef. We shared sushi among the table, and it too was excellent.
Though I really liked Sake Bomb, the prices were a bit high for me. Out the door (which includes tip) I spent ~ $150 for a family of three. Though I will definitely go back, it will be reserved for birthdays, anniversaries, or other events where we convince ourselves to splurge. -
We love Sake Bomb for our family sushi nights—Wesley is also a favorite ❤️ The sushi & sashimi is delicious, you don’t wait forever, and $8 martinis on Weds, etc! Everyone very kind here. Thank you, Sake Bomb. -
Solid place with friendly service. Been coming here for years. I used to get the BOGO sushi rolls, but eventually I discovered the Vietnamese noodle entrees and now I get one of those every time. The BBQ pork one (Bun Thit Nuong) is so good. I also like the one with jumbo prawns. Just depends whether I want crispy delicious pork or tasty jumbo prawns on that particular night. -
Sake Bomb comes off as more of an Asian Fusion restaurant rather than traditionally Japanese given that they have several items that are Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese.
That isn't much of an issue either, considering that I have mostly positive things to say about it. The Sushi is varied, fresh & delicious. Their noodle dishes are a large step up from other Asian restaurants in the area.
Service was lovely, and my waiter was kind, attentive, engaging, and had a deep knowledge of the menu items, and could tell me much of everything about it. The dishes use fresh ingredients, and very little use imitation substitutes.
The restaurant was clean, and had a warm atmosphere. I will be revisiting soon, to better understand their menu, and possibly change my review if I'm impressed.
