Plenty of free parking. I was greeting by a doe that stared me back and ran across the field. A well maintained shelter is at a few minutes walk. It is also the beginning of the River forest trail, lush and aromatic in fall.

Like pretty much all of Durham's public parks it is welcoming clean and well maintained. There is handicap parking and a paved path to the covered dining tables.

We took the Mountain to Sea Trail here and went on to Penny's Branch. Round trip took us about 2.5 hours. The trail system around the Eno River Rock!
