I don’t go to downtown Durham that often, but this bar really stands out from any others in Durham or even downtown Raleigh. The theme and the interior design is very unique. You can tell the owner cared about the design of the place from the second you walk in. Service was amazing and overall the place was very clean. 100% recommend to give their menu a try, they got some cool drinks. Definitely will bring my friends here after finding this GEM

A great addition to the Durham bar scene. I waited for after my third or fourth visit to really let the place sink in. The atmosphere is part boutique, part lounge and at first, I felt it was busy. But after a few stops in, it really started to gel with me! Sitting at the bar is great to get to talk with the staff or at the table in front! Speaking of the staff, every bartender is a pleasure and will help recommend a drink if you are a first timer. I find the drinks to be on the sweet side but when the bartender asked for feedback he offered to tune it for one’s taste preference. I’m not sure how doable that is when it is busier, but I appreciated it greatly. I’m a fan of the Wednesday bourbon special too. Highly recommend checking it out

If you’re looking for a place with great energy, great drinks and great staff, you found your spot! I went to Primrose with different groups of friends and all of us had an awesome time!
From the fun decor to the unique cocktails, the attention to detail is impressive!
Special shout-out to Nate that made all our cocktails to perfection while being helpful and friendly.
Will definitely come back many other times!!

The decor inside the lounge is gorgeous! I love the creative drink menu, and the music was great. Cedric made one of the BEST drinks I’ve had in a while! I will absolutely be back.

Brand new bar to Durham and boy are we lucky! Love the rose wall interior, right as you enter it greets you with color, texture and all the vibes. The music is great, attracting a nice mix of people and honestly I spent the evening dancing in my seat and moseying back and forth to the bar. Any place with a mezcal drink in their menu will forever have my heart.
If you’re looking to catch a vibe with the young(ish) professionals and unwind definitely checkout primrose.
Also, this needs to be said, highlighted and shared. Their seating is top tier. I don’t know where they got these luxurious couches, chairs and darling pink toilets from but they spared no expense.

I love this place! I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and realized they just opened. Primrose has such a unique vibe and the atmosphere coordinates so well! It’s vibrant and eclectic without doing too much. As a tequila lover, I ordered the “Becky With the Good Pear” and I now have a new favorite cocktail. Cheers to many more drinks and moments here, and well wishes to this becoming a staple of the Bull City!
