Either Mally is a culinary genius or Iranian food is what I’ve been craving all my life. (Or both!) Everything she makes is intensely flavorful, thoroughly nutritious, and warms the soul. Her hole-in-the-wall location has zero ambiance and really isn’t an eat-in venue, but Mally herself has a gracious & welcoming presence as she chitchats & prepares these delights. I’ve lived all over the world and enjoyed many cuisines; these are unique and among my favorites. -
My girlfriend and I were visiting from philadelphia and happened to find this gem of a place. Their food is some of the best I've ever had in recent memory. Their flavors are so vibrant with really unique flavors. The owner makes all of her food with her own recipes and fresh ingredients. She's extremely passionate about her food and it shows. We were only in town for 3 days but it was so good that we wanted to return before we left. The pomegranate stew was a highlight - we couldn't believe it was just walnuts, pomegranate, and beans. The chef must be doing something magical in that kitchen. The meatball piroshki was sweet, savory, and so flaky. The hibiscus mojito was tart and refreshing. Sadly, they're only open 3 days a week and dont have a location in Philly - otherwise we would come every day. We will definitely try to visit Durham again just to come here. It was that good! -
I am so glad I came across this place! I love having a variety of vegan friendly options in the Durham area! Most of the menu here is vegan friendly and every rice and stew was delicious! The pastries were tasty as well! -
Absolutely lovely. You'll be wowed by all of the beautiful pastries, but do try the pomegranate stew (fesenjoon) if it's being served. -
This place is amazing. The food is out of this world. Highly recommend. All is cooked fresh, very authentic, and with love. You will not regret it.
