I was running behind schedule, called the business and they let me know that they would wait to start class upon my arrival and urged me to drive safely! I arrived, found a parking spot in a nearby paid parking lot as the parking along the street was crowded! My date and I found the business and were greeted kindly by the host, Ms. Anne, who gave us a detailed introduction as well as helped to curate our experience by showing us the collage of notes/accords available for selection/ formulation and let my classmates and I sample the aromas to our liking! We each chose an apron, one accord that is basically a scent profile of what you want to smell and then we sampled and chose a combo of top, middle and base notes to add to our "scent profile!" We were able to write down our notes, dispense the appropriate amount into beakers via medicine droppers and submitted the sample volume to our instructor who made some calculations, we did the work and finished with a 30mL bottle of what we crafted as our "perfection!" It was a riveting experience to say the least! I wish that there was more time available to sample the notes as well as more space available to work in so that participants aren't bundled up almost on top of one another. A bigger work space, gloves, IPA wipes, sensory reset items, a menu of available notes/accords to assist participants with scent selection would be more efficient that being presented blindly! It would reduce the overwhelming decision of selection under a timed duration! I paid $100/person for the experience with a $25 discount which went towards gas & parking for the evening! This was our 1st but definitely not my last time enjoying the privilege of organoleptic exploration! I look forward to visiting the Charlotte location soon as well as a few contenders in NC who have peaked my interest thus far. Kudos on the experience!

Had a great experience, would definitely do it again and also recommend to other people. It's more than just mixing scents and putting them in a bottle. Ann was a great instructor. I love how they keep your scent on file so if you want your scent again they will make it for you so you can buy it again.

This was an AMAZING experience. Bianca was sweet, friendly, knowledgeable and spot on what scents I should add to help narrow down the perfect scent for me. It feels good to create and wear something hand made and to see what goes into finding and making the perfect blend. The space is clean & organized. It was good to learn how Note & Accords was born. Turning a major the owner studied into a fun, educational, personable business for people to explore & enjoy. It’s great for a girls night or date night. There are scents for men (musk and woody) to choose from as well, so men don’t think this class is just for women. The atmosphere is unisex. The dark rich green in the studio is welcoming and relaxing . I’m looking forward to my next class.

Here I am, barely able to type this out because I'm so busy smelling my hands after such a captivating scent experience facilitated by lovely Bianca! I am a HUGE fan of customizable scents and I am so happy to have N&A lift me up on a deary Sunday. I am so satisfied with the GORGEOUS body oil scent I combined and am already running to book a Signature Scent experience! Warm and modern ambiance, luscious natural scents, and phenomenal service/attention/knowledge by Bianca. Excited to support local, Black, woman-owned business and can't wait to see it soar here in Durham!

I had the most incredible experience at the Signature Scent Workshop with Note and Accord! From the moment I walked in, I was transported into the enchanting world of perfumery.
Nia and her team are absolute masters of their craft – warm, welcoming, and deeply knowledgeable. The 2-hour workshop was perfectly paced and educational without ever feeling overwhelming. I learned so much about fragrance notes, scent families, and the art of layering that I never knew before.
The hands-on experience was pure magic. I loved being able to experiment with the curated selection of premium notes and accords, using fragrance strips to discover what resonated with me. The personalized guidance made all the difference – I felt supported throughout the creative process while still having the freedom to craft something truly unique.
Walking away with my own 30ml bottle of custom fragrance was such a special feeling. It's not just a perfume; it's a personal masterpiece that tells my story. And I love that they keep my formula on file so I can reorder anytime!
